Recovery time decreased. Fitness goals expedited. Endurance taken to a superior level. Rolfing is the process of releasing fixations in chronically held tissue. Over a short series of 3 sessions to the traditional 10 series and beyond, the release of long held tissue from injury or overuse encourages your body to reorganize and align. You may experience quicker recovery times, recovery form old injuries or longevity of career.
The Ten-Series (as Ida Rolf named it) is designed to leave your body’s structure in a place of balance. Depending on how you use your body and the type of movement habits you do for sport, performance or fitness, you may find you need further work.
Many clients finish a ten-series, get good results and feel they never need another session. Others view the ten-series as the beginning of a journey towards maintaining their bodies and their health, and come in for regular “tune ups.” By the time you have completed your 10-series you will know how often you need/want a tune-up because you will have greater body- awareness and understanding with your body.
Many clients feel the positive effects of Rolfing so deeply they use it instead of Active Release, Massage and Chiropractics or Physical Therapy. But that is not necessary, Rolfing can and oftentimes does complement many forms of medicine.
Other clients take a break for several months after the ten series before they request an advanced series of 1,2,or 3 integrative sessions. No matter how much time lapses between sessions integrating a body in gravity restores function, balance, grace, fluidity, flexibility and much, much more.
